Snappy Gamer

I've moved Snappy Gamer to a proper webhost with a WordPress install. I'll be setting it up over the next week or so before (hopefully) launching it properly.

SPORE - It's here!

The most interesting thing is the way it manages to work out how to make your creature walk, no matter how ridiculous you make its legs.

Although we're not really supposed to be playing this for a couple of days, some lovely folk found the file on EA's website and managed to grab it before they took it down. And now it's available from all good torrent sites. Yay!Thanks to Rock, Paper, Shotgun for the news.

Speed Racer Review (Nintendo Wii)

Historically, movie tie-ins tend to finish up with the kind of review that ranges somewhere between average and finding someone’s cock poking through a hole in the bottom of your popcorn. So colour us surprised when we found Speed Racer to pretty damn good fun. Sure, it’s not perfect and there are plenty of things that could’ve been improved, but it certainly isn’t a turkey. Nike+

I've got myself a new gadget. It's the Nike+ SportBand.

Basically, it's a swanky pedometer. You put a sensor in your shoe and it transmits pedometer guff to the sports band. Then, you go for a run. THEN, you pull a chunk out of the sports band wrist bit, shot it in your USB port and it gives you a nice graph. Oh, and it uploads everything to the Nike+ website so everyone can see how far you've run.

So far I've only moved a pathetic 0.25 miles to calibrate it, but you can keep track of my mileage down the bottom of this page on the right hand side. If anybody actually reads this blog, that is.

House of the Dead 2&3 Return Review

The Nintendo Wii is an ideal platform for light gun games and it’s only right that Sega has decided to bring a few of them to the table, what with their comprehensive back catalogue in the genre. We’re still waiting for a Virtua Cop revival of some sort, but in the mean time we have been treated to Ghost Squad, and now a pair of House of the Dead games.
Sadly, the first House of the Dead game isn’t included in this package, apparently because it doesn’t stand up to today’s high graphical standards, but more on that later. The most important question here is; should you fork out £20 for two House of the Dead ports? Well we’re going to say yes, if you’re into this sort of thing. More...
